Each person, no matter what their history, deserves the right to hope and dream. I desire to empower individuals to process and let go of their negative past experiences and start fresh: able to strive towards a brighter future.
I ascribe to Person-Centered Therapy, which basically means that I give each individual unconditional positive regard, and aim to be as empathetic and genuine as possible with my clients. I value each life as distinct and designed for a specific purpose.
Within a Person-Centered framework, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (identifying and shifting core beliefs and behavior) , Family Systems Theory (looking at a client within a relational framework), Logotherapy (instilling hope and finding purpose), Gestalt Therapy (focusing on the present with emphasis on personal responsibility), and Play and Art Therapy techniques.
I also use an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) approach in relation to Trauma. It is the leading framework in dealing with little and big Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and more.
Thus developing a different method of therapy for each client, so that your counseling experience is as unique as you are!
